30 Paintings in 30 Days

After all the holidays and distractions I decided to jump back into the swing of things by painting 30 paintings this month.  I've done my first 3:
This one I put on Daily Paintworks:

This is a little encaustic painting, I submitted to "Make Mine Mini" at Cloth Paper Scissors:
Update: Just found out that I'm a finalist!
I'm not ready to post yesterday's painting because I don't really like it yet and don't know how I'm going to improve it yet.  Maybe I'll get brave and post it anyway and ask for advice!

Behind Closed Doors

One artist whose work I'm really enjoying is Julie Ford Oliver.  I'm not a "flowers in a vase" kind of person but I like her palette knife technique.  Check her out... http://juliefordoliver.blogspot.ca/

This is today's painting up for auction at Daily Paintworks.  I just love the textures of old stuff...may have to do a doorknob series.
"Behind Closed Doors", 5x7", acrylic

"Tom's Shed" will be off to it's new home today...kind of sad to see it go.

Do You Think I'm Sexy?

This is my entry to the Birdbrained challenge at Daily Paintworks.  I picture this guy saying "Do you think I'm Sexy?"  This painting can be purched/bid on here: http://www.dailypaintworks.com/buy/auction/76417

There are a few others available too like this one posted a couple of days ago:

Happy Painting!

In other news, I visited the Merrickville Arts Guild studio tour yesterday.  There were some really great artists, including Holly Dean (www.HollyDean.com). I LOVE her studio and her art and she is a sweetheart!

What Are You Looking At?

I went to a paintout with a local art group a couple of weeks ago and did some sketches for this little painting. I can't say the sheep was very cooperative!  This little cutie is sold (www.dailypaintworks.com) and on it's way to Washington, DC but I kind of wanted to keep it.

In other news, the September-October issue of Cloth Paper Scissors magazine is out and has my wire "bra" sculpture in it.
